Main Responsibilities
a. Supporting the Delivery of Laboratory Services
- Develop enterprise wide standardization for best practices in compliant lab operations
- Apply Lean Lab Initiatives and Just In Time/Point of Use laboratory supply plans with lab specific logistics services
- Perform site and supplier evaluations to maximize savings and ensure maximum equipment utilization, including the use of open access equipment. Develop robust customer relations with key Client Laboratory and procurement managers
- Drive robust safety and standards for GLP, GCP and GMP compliance within established lab programs as appropriate for each site
- Integrate programs with existing services offerings (HSE, FMIS, Engineering Services, Quality Systems) at all relevant sites
- Provide clear direction for the site teams
b. Centre of Expertise
- Develop and administer Business Support Services policies and procedures
- Guide the planning, implementation and evaluation of Laboratory Support services policies and procedures
- Support engagement delivery and quality through on-site client interaction, review of deliverables and participation in critical meetings
- Remain a Service recovery escalation point for all issues related to laboratory services
- Conduct research on market dynamics, cost drivers, business models, and historical spend
- Implement Laboratory Services strategy utilizing industry modeling and appropriate metrics across the Company and its customers
- Collaborate closely with cross functional groups (Cleaning, Security, Technical Maintenance, Information Technology, Quality Management, EHS)
- In particular ensure site openings are well transitioned between BD and operations and well mobilized by operations
d. Business Development
- Promote the development of FM services with existing Clients, and ensure they are introduced to ***** FM BU
e. HR and Management
- Direct Reports- Environmental Services- SME (CofEx) , Security Services-SME (CofEx)
- Manage, motivate and develop reporting staff
- Staff discipline
- Objective settings and evaluation for direct reports
f. Financial Management & Reporting
- To ensure that all Business Expenses and Travel are in line with ***** Policy.
- To follow ***** Policy for Mobile Phones
g. Quality
- Support the development, implementation and auditing of the Business Support Services – Business Process Manual (BPM)
- Support the development, implementation and auditing of the Business Support Services - Local Operating Procedures (LOP)
- Perform and document quality assurance inspections to assure compliance with ***** Business Process Standards
h. Laboratory Services , Safety, Accountability
- Monitor the safety and potential risks of the working environment to our employees and Client employees
- Ensure any serious incident involving our employees or the facilities and employees of our clients are reported immediately to relevant levels and that relevant levels are updated systematically according to company policy and procedures
i. Corporate Responsibility & Image
- Rrespect, understand and follow the ***** philosophy, core values, and ethical principles and of all Company policies
- Participate in the promotion of the image of ***** on his/her region; in particular rectify any negative or inappropriate perception Clients might have of ***** image
Education Background
- A science degree or equivalent in a chemical or biological discipline
- Specialized training in Laboratory Services management would be an added advantage
- Membership of relevant professional organizations
b. Working Experience
- Minimum of 15 years working experiences
- Minimum of 5 years working within a laboratory environment, post qualification
- 2+ years progressively responsible management related experience in facilities management, ideally within the pharmaceutical industry
c. Professional skills
- Ability to plan, prioritize and delegate in a resource constrained environment and reprioritize resources
- Experience of developing and implementing Quality Management Systems
- Proven ability to establish strategic initiatives for client relationships
- A good understanding and application of safety legislation and commercial aspects of support services
- Knowledge and experience of interpreting and applying Health and Safety regulations and procedures in a biomedical facility
d. General skills
- Superior written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin and English desirable
- Auditing and report writing knowledge and experience
- Commercial awareness
- Ability to analyze and synthesize
- Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Ability to work as part of a team and to work independently
- Strong computer skills( MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and industry modeling tools)
