About The Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join us as a Technical Business Development and Open Innovation professional. This role requires a strong background in technical knowledge in polymer science/material science/chemical engineering and business development, with a focus on fostering innovation and collaboration. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in identifying and developing new business opportunities, driving growth, and cultivating partnerships with external entities to foster open innovation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a setting of technology, business, and innovation. Functional axis to Technical Business Development in HQs.
What you will do
Identify and evaluate new business opportunities and new technologies
Conduct market research and analysis to identify new technologies & potential areas for business growth
Evaluate the technical and commercial viability of new opportunities
Drive open innovation initiative
Identify areas where external partnerships and collaborations can drive innovation
Develop and manage relationships with external stakeholders, including start-ups, Chinese academia, scientific institutes, industry experts, policymakers, and government officials
Develop and manage strategic partnerships
Manage ongoing relationships with partners, ensuring alignment of goals and objectives
Negotiate partnership agreements and contracts
Support business development activities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams
Develop business plans, proposals, and drive implementation
Stay updated on industry trends and competitive landscape
Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and market dynamics
Conduct competitor analysis to identify potential threats and opportunities
Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on market intelligence
What you will need
Phd in Sciences or Engineering, master’s in chemical engineering or Material Science, Polymer Science or Chemistry
Entrepreneurial experience or technical business development, open innovation, or a similar role in technology transfer
Strong technical acumen and understanding of emerging technologies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
Fluent in Chinese and English, willing to travel within China Mainland
Demonstrated ability to identify and evaluate new business opportunities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects simultaneously
Analytical mindset with the ability to gather and interpret data to drive informed decision-making
