Industrial Designer Wanted
Do you like toys, summer, water sports and extreme camping? If so we have the job for you! We are Bestway, a Shanghai-based manufacturer - if it’s fun and inflatable we make it. Designing products for some of the world’s most recognizable brands including Disney, Marvel, Coleman and Bestway, you will be responsible for developing a wide range of items.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop innovative concepts the following categories:
-Above Ground Swimming Pools: pool structures, water filtration systems, supporting hot tub appliances and other accessories;
-Inflatable Furniture: Airbeds and mattresses, and air chairs;
-Inflatable Toys: Pool lounges for adults, children swim trainers, backyard pool toys;
-Hard plastic appliances and accessories: swim and dive goggles, inflation pumps, and water sprinklers;
Meet with category managers to establish design briefs, including concept, performance and production criteria;
Work on ideas as part of a team developing design concepts using CAD (computer-aided design);
Take part in specialist or multidisciplinary team meetings;
Sketch initial design ideas;
Identify the suitability and availability of materials;
Produce detailed drawings and specifications using dedicated computer software (CAD) to produce design specifications, including parts lists and production requirements;
Make samples or working models by hand or using high-frequency prototyping equipment;
Test design concepts;
Research materials, processes and/or market requirements;
Arrange meetings and liaising with engineers and other departments including marketing, to discuss and negotiate appropriate production processes, costs and commercial issues;
Occasionally travel to production facilities and evaluating the feasibility of production;
Make presentations to senior design management;
Experience, Knowledge, Skills Required:
Problem solve like Einstein;
Communicate like a diplomat;
Sketch like a ninja;
Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator is a must;
