Teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
JOB DESCRIPTION: English for Academic Purposes (EAP) delivered at Shandong Agricultural University (SDAU), Tai’an (Taishan) China
Job title: Teaching English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
Payment: can be discussed (will meet the requirements of the teacher)
Job details: Full time; delivering (18 hours per week) in China
Relationships with: Staff, students, international partners
Main purpose of job: Teaching English (EAP) in China (Tai An (Taishan) in Shandong)
Start date: 15 September 2014 with first semester teaching lasting for 16 weeks second semester teaching lasting for 15 weeks
Key tasks
Teaching
1 Delivery of lectures, tutorials, seminars, practicals to students on courses in SDAU PRC
Assessment
2 To develop appropriate assessments, and engage with a range of assessments, as required to fulfill programme specifications.
Mentoring
3 Assisting in the learning process of students which will include involvement in tutorials, seminars, practicals, lectures and assessments. This to be carried out in SDAU PRC
Administration
4 Managing the development and delivery of EAP modules, and liaising with PRC University programme managers and deans, and attending relevant programme development events.
5 Liaising with PRC University teaching and other support staff to facilitate student learning.
6 Attending module, programme, school, University and other meetings arising from assigned responsibilities such as examination boards.
7 Testing of students in SDAU
Translation
8 There may be a requirement to carry out translation work as part of the SDAU business from time-to-time
General
9 Such other tasks as may be requested from time-to-time.
Requirements:
1/ Have The teacher qualification certificate
2/ have English teaching experience in colleges or universities
3/ age more than 30 years old
4/ come from UK most welcome, other native English speaking countries also ok
