The Opportunity
ALO7’s Online Tutoring Department is currently seeking qualified OES to join our academic team in Shanghai.
About the Position
As an OES at ALO7, you will be delivering English classes through the ALO7 platform. The platform allows students throughout China to schedule 1-1 sessions in order to practice and perfect their English skills. OES’s play a key role at ALO7, enabling our students to put what they have learned into practice through individualized dialogue and study. OES’s assist students in improving academic performance by delivering online sessions on a regular basis to clarify learning problems and work on study skills. In addition, OES’s provide our students with useful and clear feedback after each class.
Professional Support and Development
OES’s will have a personal workspace and full access to Internet-connected computers in our modern office in Shanghai’s Zhang Jiang High Technology Park.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Main Responsibilities
1、Up to 25 hours per week delivering 25 minute lessons to students through our online learning platform
2、Using electronic media and ALO7 developed courseware to teach English efficiently and effectively
3、Evaluating student progress and providing on-going guidance for improvement
Qualifications
1、Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
2、Internationally recognized TEFL or TESOL certification
3、Minimum 2 years teaching experience (required)
4、Demonstration of a neutral accent, clear pronunciation, good intonation, and English language rhythm
5、Teacher Certification (preferred, not required)
Additional requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must be citizens from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa to meet China’s visa regulations.
Employment Package
1、13,000 – 17,000 RMB monthly, based on qualifications
2、12,000 RMB contract completion bonus for candidate located within China
3、Relocation allowance of up to 10,000 RMB for candidates located outside of China

In the past, English Language Learning (ELL) teaching methods in China have been traditional and inefficient. Most teachers rely on Grammar Translation, drill and kill, and teaching for test preparation as opposed to focusing on skill production and utilizing more communicative activities. This is frustrating for children who become disinterested in learning English. Teachers lack the training and tools to conduct effective and engaging classes. Teachers must create their own materials and spend a large amount of time outside of class grading homework and communicating with parents. Parents may think their children's short-term test prep needs are met, but they feel communicative competence and other skills production are being shortchanged. Parents also feel a disconnect from what takes place in the classroom and don't understand how their students are performing.
ALO7 makes classes fun and exciting for children and teachers. The materials are presented in a meaningful way alongside activities that promote interactivity between children through competitions and games. Teachers have access to a wealth of resources to make their classes rich and memorable. Our courseware allows students to be rewarded at home for individual and team performance in class. The exercises and tasks students complete online on ALO7.com or ALO7 apps are marked automatically and the data is shared with teachers and parents, providing a clear picture of each learner's progression through the content. Teachers also can use Ai Xiao Tong (AXT) to record pictures and audio files, write learning goals, and create class and individual feedback for the parents.
