We are pleased to present an exciting opportunity with a leading force in the pharmaceutical industry, a globally renowned name currently undergoing a major transformation of its China operations. To support this transformation, we are seeking a seasoned Director of HR to join their leadership team in China - this role can be based in either Beijing or Shanghai.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, with a dotted line to the APAC HR Head, you will lead the HR function for China, overseeing a team of HR professionals. This role goes beyond business partnering, acting as a strategic partner to the MD and leadership team to drive the continued growth of the China business. You will shape and execute the people strategy that underpins the country's commercial ambitions, owning HR end-to-end across the commercial organization at a business projecting double-digit headcount growth next FY. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, delivering impactful HR strategies and enabling them to lead with clarity and confidence in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where China sits at the center of the global growth story.

You are an experienced HR leader with a strong track record of leading HR functions in a fast-paced, commercial organization, ideally within pharma, healthcare, or life sciences. You bring deep expertise across the full HR spectrum, strong business acumen, and a proven ability to partner senior leadership to support business growth. Your ability to influence and build trust with an MD and leadership team, lead and develop a team of HR professionals, and navigate complex transformation initiatives will be key to success. Strong communication, negotiation, and coaching skills are essential, along with the ability to build lasting relationships at all levels of the organization.
